Community Partners

The business of community development requires that we network with a variety of individuals and agencies to enlist their support and expertise.  The Midlands Community Development Corporation (MCDC) is grateful for the collaborative agreements with wonderful service partners that make all of our programs and services possible.

Several agencies rent space in the C.R. Neal Dream Center and provide services consistent with our purpose and scope.

Wateree Community Action Agency
Provides services to economically distressed persons and families through rent and utility assistance, medical assistance, and general referrals.

Paxen Corporation
The About Face program, an after-school program for youth ages 14-17, is funded through the State Department of Education through the Paxen Corporation.  A total of 30 students typically enroll in an eight-week program where they receive life skills training, academic enhancement training, as well as employment exploration with approximately 30 local businesses.

MED TECH
A training program that certifies participants as nursing assistants (CNAs). Day and evening classes are available.

Richland County Sheriff's Department
A satellite station is located in the C.R. Neal Dream Center where counseling for victims of violent crimes is also provided.

Palmetto Health
Provides health education classes to the public and can refer individuals in need of health care to public services. Classes and screenings on health issues prevalent in our communities are sponsored by this organization. During the past year, the MCDC and Plmetto Health have jointly sponsored breast cancer awareness classes, diabetes and hypertension classes, prostate screenings, and general health and nutrition classes.

Others of our partners have either funded services offered at the Dream Center or have otherwise contributed to the MCDC.                                             BellSouth
