Seniors seeking opportunities to maintain an active lifestyle find such a resource at the Dream Center. The program provides a supportive, caring environment where participants develop a sense of camaraderie and engage in activities that interest them three days a week. Activities include general and health information sessions, tours, crafts, bible study, and technology classes. Seniors also participate in the Silver Sneakers Program, a health and wellness initiative that emphasizes exercise and nutrition. Transportation and hot meals are provided to all participants free of charge.

Proposed New Senior Center
Thanks to the generous support from the SC Lt. Governor's Office on Aging and the Bible Way Church of Atlas Road, southeast Columbia will soon have a new center for the enjoyment of area seniors. The Dream Keepers program currently meets in a classroom at the C.R. Neal Dream Center but in 2011 the program will have a new home with space designed specifically for seniors. The Bible Way Church of Atlas Road has donated the land and building at 2628 Atlas Road (currently known as the JR Jackson Women's Center) to MCDC for the project and renovation funding is coming from the Office on Aging. Renovation will begin in February with the goal of completing the building by mid year. The center will offer a library, a TV and computer room, two large meeting and activity rooms, a commercial kitchen, a patio and garden, and a gazebo with a walking trail. Once completed, the center will be accessible to seniors Monday - Friday of each week and will offer an array of activities similar to those currently offered in the Dream Keepers program. Bible Way has pledged continued funding for operations of this worthwhile program as a way of saying how much seniors are valued in our community. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting project!
