Hopeless, desperate, frightened and angry…these are just a few of the emotions that women entering through the doors of the JRJ Women’s Center are experiencing. Women who seek help from the JRJ Women's Center come from different races, cultures, religions, socioeconomic and educational backgrounds, all are at critical points in their lives. They have taken the first step towards change, but they need support and encouragement to gain self-sufficiency and achieve their dreams.

The JRJ Women’s Center is a nondenominational agency whose primary focus is to assist in the healing of women and mending families.  Our staff and volunteers are committed to providing every individual woman with the personal support she needs in order to acknowledge her self-worth and dignity.  With that said we have equally committed ourselves to come alongside each woman who comes to the Women Center in friendship to see the possibilities and opportunities for them and their children. Our services are confidential and are no cost to the client.

The core embodiment of our organization is to provide loving concern for our clients in a safe, non-judgmental atmosphere.  We encourage our clients by addressing their practical, emotional and spiritual needs with honesty, empathy and unconditional love.

A commitment of volunteerism has remained the stable core of the Women’s Center. Our active volunteer pool enables us to maintain our reputation and the diversity of services we provide.  Despite funding, we have been able to remain consistent in our services to women from all walks of life.

Our staff of professionals and trained volunteers are dedicated to helping people regain control of their lives, their choices, and their futures by offering services such as individualized counseling (in-person and telephone counseling), educational and enrichment services geared towards career choices, court accompaniment to hearings at court and district justice level, referral source to community information and resources to name a few.

Our target beneficiaries are:

  • Urban poor women
  • Women from rural areas
  • Young women
  • Women who have been recently released from prison
  • Women who are professional employees or business owners
  • Women who are victims of abuse… to name a few.
